CBSE 10th 12th Board Exams 2020 have been postponed, scheduled for July. The Supreme Court issued orders to CBSE to issue a notice of cancelation of Board exams to be held from 1-15 July.

CBSE, the Central Board of Secondary Education, has agreed to cancel the 2020 Class 10 , 12 Board exams scheduled from 1 July to 15 July 2020. The board would now assess the students on the basis of the scores from the three previous exams and declare class 10,12 Outputs by 15 July. As per the recent update, CBSE was asked by the Supreme Court to issue the notice for the July exams that were cancelled. This order was issued following CBSE having informed the court of its current decision.Nonetheless, CBSE Class 12 students will have an opportunity to appear later on when the situation is favorable for the remaining papers. But, there’s no such option available for Class 10 students.
Supreme Court bench headed by J AM Khanwilkar heard the petition requesting the cancelation of remaining COVID19 CBSE tests. CBSE explained that Class 10 exams would be cancelled and the marks awarded would be final based on the criteria defined by CBSE. CBSE Class 12 students will have the opportunity to appear at a later date for the exams.

SG Mehta informed the Supreme Court that the CBSE had filed an affidavit based on state reports, agreeing to cancel the July 1 exams for Classes 10 and 12. He stated that all Class 10 exams are cancelled, while the Class 12 exams are optional. For Class 12, students can either accept their marks based on the previous three exams or appear for the exams later when the situation improves. The marks from these exams will be considered final for those opting to take them later.

CBSE Class 12 students must choose between taking the exams later or accepting marks based on their previous three exams, as ordered by the Supreme Court to avoid confusion. The ICSE Board (CISCE) has also cancelled the July exams but, unlike CBSE, won’t offer Class 12 students the option to appear later. The ICSE, ISC exams for 2020 are now officially concluded. CBE Board Exams: A timeline of events

Few CBSE 10th, 12th Board Exam papers were left in 2020 when the schools and colleges were closed. Exams were deferred till April from March 19 to March 31, and then postponed by the HRD Ministry as a nationwide lockdown was declared on March 25. Such exams were then postponed, and were expected to take place between July 1 and July 15. 
CBSE expressed its intention to cancel the examinations abroad and to carry out examinations for only 29 subjects out of the remaining set. The board published the date sheet for the May exams. Parents Oppose July Exams Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases

However, parents were swift to oppose the move. Concerns rose as the COVID19 cases spiraled through the world. India currently has 4.73 lakh cases. According to the most recent newsletter, India reported 4,73,105 positive cases including 1,86,514 active cases, 2,71,697 cured / discharged cases and 14,894 deaths.Due to the particularly severe pandemic situation in Delhi and Mumbai, which incidentally also has a large number of CBSE students, the discomfort has increased as the dates have come closer. SC had then asked CBSE, taking cognizance of the PIL filed, to ‘reconsider’ its decision to conduct the exams in July.
